Opened 29TH February 2016 in a former charity shop which had laid empty for a number of years and it was in a dilapidated state, we somehow managed to open the doors and begin the Guild Ale House.

So we set off with the aim to open a real ale bar in the heart of Preston and do things a little bit different, stripping a pub back to basics.

We knew we wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but we had a plan and we stuck to it. A real pub with real ale, real people and real conversation, somewhere without all the distractions of the modern world where people talk to each other and friendships are made.
We have live music on Sunday afternoons, weekly open mics, ukulele club, monthly quiz nights.

We have won a couple of awards along the way too, Camra Central Lancs Pub of the Year 2018 & 2020 and Pub of the season 2024.

So 7 ever changing real ales, 9 keg lines, 2 real ciders, huge fridge of Belgian beer, loads of alcohol free option and selected wines and spirits, what’s not to like.
